On March 23rd 2018, the world’s leading corporate stars reunited for a special occasion, the ­­­40th Le Fonti Awards Gala and CEO Summit in Hong Kong. Le Fonti Awards are held each year in multiple locations (7 events in 2017) recognizing industry leaders in banking, business, economics, finance, sustainability, law, healthcare, insurance and e-commerce. This year, the Hong Kong Gala & CEO Summit was held at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers, a luxurious venue located in the heart of Hong Kong, hosted by the influential and prominent TV presenter and MC, Agnes Zee. 

The title at this year’s CEO Summit round table was Leadership & Innovation: skills and visions for growth.  The summit focused on a discussion of the important drivers related to leadership skills and innovation which have recently impacted the East Asian companies and the skill sets required by their employees to meet the challenges facing a wide variety of industries, including education and training, ICT, real estate, and financial services, in the 21st century.  Renowned participants included Mr. Shankar Iyer (CEO, Indian Institute of Management and Leadership - IIML), Mr. Thomas Khatofer (Managing Director, Arvato Systems), Ms. Shirley Lee Chin Tam (Managing Director, Tiger Synergy) and Mr. Yilmaz Yildiz (CEO, Zurich Sigorta).

The winners were selected after being carefully evaluated by Le Fonti’s editorial staff of over 120 journalists from around the world. Le Fonti Corporate Awards winners were Mobitel (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership, Mobile Communications Sri Lanka), Tai O Heritage Hotel (Iconic Hotel of the Year, East Asia), Arvato Systems Malaysia (Company of the Year Best Place to Work, Smart Services), China Telecom (Company of the Year for Leadership & Sustainability Telecom, Asia),  Chow Tai Fook (Excellence of the Year for Leadership Luxury, Asia), Ortho Digital Diagnostics (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership, Vitro Diagnostics),  Mobiweb (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership SMS Messaging Provider, Asia), Kerry Logistics Network (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Logistics Services, Global) and Melco Resorts and Entertainment Online (Best Promotions and Events Team of the Year, Asia).  Special mention should be attributed to HGC Global Communications which won two awards for the Asian region: Company of the Year, OTT Leadership and Company of the Year, Sustainability.

 

The next category included the awards winners in the Real Estate industry which were: Alexander Wong Architects (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership, Interior Design), Carlos Lamas, (Excellence of the Year for Leadership Architecture, Spain), Asia Green Group (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Property Developer, Malaysia), Metrics Global (Excellence of the Year Real Estate Interior Design, Malaysia), SonKim Land (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Property, Vietnam), Borey Peng Huoth Group (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Real Estate, Cambodia), Tiger Synergy (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Real Estate, Malaysia) and Shui on Land (Excellence of the Year for Innovation & Leadership Property Development, Mainland China) .

 

The following categories referred to the financial industries and included winners in FOREX, Asset Management, and Banking and Insurance.  The two winners in the FOREX category were E-Global Trade & Finance Group (Broker of the Year for Leadership, FOREX Investment Business) and Olymp Trade (Trading Platform of the Year); the winners for Asset Management were Orchard Global Asset Management (Asset Management Firm of the Year Alternative Investments, Asia) and La Trobe Financial (Investment Company of the Year, Asia-Pacific) while the winners for Banking & Insurance were Bank of East Asia (Excellence of the Year for Innovation Banking, China) and Zurich Sigorta (Company of the Year Insurance, Europe).

In the final category, which highlighted CEO & Top Executives of the Year, the winners were: Vito Rotondi of M.E.P. Group (CEO of the Year for Innovation Industrial Machinery Italy),  Yilmaz Yildiz of Zurich Sigorta (CEO of the Year Insurance, Europe), Thay Mengly of Borey Peng Huoth Group ( CEO of the Year Innovation & Leadership Real Estate, Cambodia) and Datò Chevy Beh of Bookdoc (CEO of the Year for Innovation Healthcare Platform, South Asia).  Mr. Rotondi is a previous winner with Le Fonti in various awards categories.

The next editions of the Le Fonti Awards will take place in Milan on May 25th 2018, while the next overseas event will be held in New York on July 1st, 2018 and will be a vertical event focusing on the food industry.
